Ipswich 1-2-3
04-Jun-2011
Another solid performance by the firsts resoundly defeating the winless Maldon at Clay Hall was followed up by news that the seconds had a convincing six wicket win at St Margarets. The early finish on Home Field enabled supporters and first teamers alike to view the conclusion of the thirds match on Hackers. Under new skipper "Jonesy" the thirds had collapsed to a somewhat under par 193 all out against previously undefeated Haverhill II's and a defeat was maybe in some members minds. However, a fine fielding and bowling performance in particular by Nick Johnson and the other slower bowlers wrapped Haverhill in knots and the visitors were bowled out for 148 to give the thirds another excellant win. Alas the 4ths away in the wilds beyond Sudbury to play Sudbury 3rds were unable to record a win but 3 wins out of 4 is welcomed and maybe our players have found much needed form at the right time.
Onwards and upwards!
