ECB Natwest Cricket Force countdown

25 February 2009

Yes, its only 6 weeks until ECB Natwest Cricket Force!

We would like to thank all those who attended the Cricket Force meeting at the Holiday Inn back in January and hope you are all still enthusiastic about the weekend of 3rd, 4th and 5th April 2009.

So how is it all going...

Firstly thank you very much to those of you who have already generously donated cash and other items; these are hugely appreciated by your committee.  We will be announcing who has supported us closer to the time so we don't miss anyone out.

However in the spirit of Terry Wogan and Pudsey we are not done yet.

We are seeking the following materials;

  • 100 more bricks
  • Waterbutts
  • Buckets, spades, shovels, forks, trowels
  • Paintbrushes, plants, shrubs, plant tubs, gardening gloves
  • Wood for decking, cleaning products, scouring pads, rags
  • Paint and or wood preserver

... in fact anything DIY related and it doesn't have to be brand new. So if you are spring cleaning your garage or shed, don't throw anything away, please donate it to this good cause.

We also need the use of a skip, a second marquee and or large tents (just in case it does rain) during Cricket Force weekend. So if you have a contact that may be able to supply anything at a discount, free or even if you would like to cover the cost let Linda Norton know.

But of course the most important thing is you!

If you haven't yet signed up for a project, now is the time to get in contact with us. You don't have to be a DIY guru to get involved in the weekend's events. We will need helpers to assist the coaches and ECB roadshow, others to help make drinks and feed the workers, car park attendants, DJs, photographers - the list is endless.

To give you an insight of what has been happening please check out the Cricket Force Committee blog. You can also see what the other showcase clubs are up to.

We have also had some great publicity with an article in the Evening Star (thank you to the Evening Star for their permission to reproduce their article).

So please help us to step up to the challenge, register your help TODAY by emailing Linda Norton, the Cricket Force Committee Chairman.

It's going to be great!

Katherine Norton, Ladies Captain.
